Designing a kitchen might seem challenging, but with proper planning and the right choices, you can create a functional and beautiful space. From selecting materials to arranging appliances, every decision matters. Here’s a complete guide to setting up your kitchen and making the most of your space.

1. Take Your Kitchen Measurements
The first step is to have 2D plans of your current kitchen in a .dwg file, including the existing layout. If you don’t have plans or want to renovate, you can use our kitchen e-design service at www.maukaa.design.

2. List Your Appliances
Before designing, make a list of all the appliances you want to include:
Refrigerator
Stove
Oven
Range hood
Dishwasher
Microwave
It’s important to have the exact measurements of each appliance to ensure everything fits perfectly.
3. Choose Materials and Structure
Wood: Select between rosamorada or parota. The structure should always be solid wood for durability.
Cabinet doors: Decide the style for upper and lower cabinets. Choose between a natural tone, stained finish, or full paint using the Comex color palette (Universal).
Drawer mechanisms: Options include sliding, push-to-open, or simple handles.
4. Countertop and Backsplash
Countertop: Choose between marble, granite, other stone, or tile. Colors can be selected using the Comex palette, and for tile, pick the shape (square or other).
Backsplash: Opt for tile or stone that complements your countertop.
5. Details and Accessories
Handles: Choose a design that enhances your kitchen style.
Kitchen island (optional):
Countertop type: waterfall or standard top
Island design: fixed or movable on wheels, depending on your needs
6. Flooring (Optional)
If including flooring, choose one suitable for your kitchen area. Non-slip floors are recommended for safety and accident prevention.
